PTF Clay Academy
Much more than hitting tennis balls
There is little point building a future champion if he or she does not have the right foundations. The modern game is physically demanding and many top players have significant injuries that affect their performance. Petton Clay Court Academy seeks to develop its Students to maximise their ability to play high-energy tennis throughout their future professional tennis careers.
Our intensive on-court training regime is backed up by a significant emphasis on whole body athletic development.
Applying well-respected philosophies developed by top sports scientists and physical trainers, we seek to achieve a long-goal for all our Students of injury prevention, dynamism, agility and an ability to perform in the full range of conditions that they will face in their professional career.
When a Student is admitted to the Academy, he or she undergoes full muscular skeletal screening and analysis of their body and their fitness levels.
It takes roughly 18 months of intensive work to balance a player’s body, and Students complete the course as true athletes with low risk of long-term injury as well as the knowledge required to maintain and support their bodies when faced with the demands of the game.
