Andrew Fisher, PTF Clay Court Academy's Director of Coaching, is passionate about the philosophies of PTF Clay. Having coached some 13 National champions from various countries, including in her formative years of 8 to 12, the US Open 2009 Girls Champion, Heather Watson. Andrew sees basing their early formative years of skills and movement development on clay court practice and hitting as a pathway to success for promising young junior players.

Free from the distractions of city life and with the benefit of a supportive environment, the Students can focus all their concentration on tennis and their studies. Tennis training takes place close to the school at a privately built facility at Petton, Shrewsbury in North Shropshire, England featuring indoor and outdoor championship grade artificial clay courts, gym, swimming and video analysis facilities.

Our courts have been specifically selected to minimise body strain and injury prevention is built into all of the Academy’s training sessions. Training on a clay court enables Students to completely focus on technique, movement and endurance so that as they grow and gain in physical strength, they are ready to become masters of both the clay and hard court game.
